Looking for more ways to upcycle an old shelter? Put those poles to use as plant stakes! What better way to support the environment than to actually support a living plant's growth. Share your upcycled shelter pole on social and tag us @lightspeed_outdoors.

What you'll need: garden shears and twine

  1. Cut poles carefully to desired length.
  2. Use twine to secure your new plant stake to your plant.

* instead of twine, you can also use the guy lines from your shelter or thin strips of material cut from the shelter walls.

BONUS TIP: If your tent has mesh windows or pockets, you can use the mesh as netting to protect smaller plants from bugs.

CAUTION: Be aware of sharp edges on trimmed poles.
